There are several classes of membership:

1.  A new member begins as a Prospect.

2.  After completing the requirements, a Prospect can be nominated for Active Membership by a sponsor or by the Membership Committee.

3.  An Active member can sponsor an Associate Member.

4.  Honorary
Members are former Active members who are no longer able to ride.

Membership Requirements

To become a Prospect Member:

1. You must own a motorcycle of at least 250 cc because we want you to be able to keep up.

2. You must complete an application.

To become an Active Member:

1. You must ride at least 1000 miles with the club because we want to be sure that you can ride safely. This can involve as little as a few long day trips or many shorter rides.

2. Your must attend at least 2 regular business meetings because we want you to see how our organization works.

3. You must attend the group riding safety seminar and pass the group riding safety test.

Who is eligible? Everyone. Well, almost everyone. It doesn't matter where you live or what you ride or what is your race, sex, religion or education.

You must be of driving age and you must be sociable, courteous, considerate, and respectful. People who join our club are not just members, they are representatives. And we care who represents us.

Initiation Fee: $20

Colors Deposit: $75

Dues: Annually $50 (paid before second Wednesday in February) or Monthly $5

Preamble: Whereas in all Regulated Clubs, certain Laws and Rules are necessary for the government thereof, we the members of Bayshore Wheelers Motorcycle Club do hereby agree to support and abide by the following Laws, Rules, and Regulations.

Objective: To promote motorcycling as a means of transportation, sport and recreation, and to preserve and improve the rights of same whenever possible.

Oath: I ______________________ do Solemnly Swear that I will abide by the Constitution and By-Laws of THE CLUB, and at all times endeavor to perform and bring credit and respect to it. I will be tolerant and bear no personal grudge or animosity against any other member of THE CLUB, and at no time, while a member, or after leaving THE CLUB, make statements or perform acts detrimental to it.

Prospect: A PROSPECT membership shall be granted to a person who wants to join THE CLUB, completes an application, and owns a motorcycle of at least 250 cc. To become eligible for ACTIVE membership a PROSPECT must ride at least 1000 miles with the club, attend at least two regular business meetings, and attend the safety seminar. PROSPECT members shall neither have a vote, wear the club colors, nor sponsor an ASSOCIATE member.

Active Member: The ACTIVE members shall consist of not more than fifty (50) male and female riders. A member to be considered Active, must pay the prescribed initiation fee and monthly dues. To remain Active, a member must not miss more than two (2) consecutive meetings. All ACTIVE members must own a bike of at least 250cc and present proof of ownership before being sworn in. Any member to remain ACTIVE must participate in at least six (6) CLUB sanctioned runs or affairs per year. Sanctioned runs or affairs will be decided by a majority vote at the previous months' meeting. CLUB meetings are mandatory and are not to be considered CLUB sanctioned runs or affairs. Any member who performs the above requirements to the best of his ability shall be deemed an ACTIVE member. ACTIVE members will be on probation for a period of three (3) months after joining and during that time can be dismissed with a majority vote for validated reasons designated by THE CLUB.

Associate Member: An ASSOCIATE membership shall be granted to a person who wishes to ride with an ACTIVE member, and upon receipt of the prescribed fee. An ASSOCIATE member will not have a vote, nor will an ASSOCIATE hold the office of President, Vice President, or Treasurer. ASSOCIATE members will be able to attend CLUB meetings. ASSOCIATE members will abide by all rules and regulations set by THE CLUB. Only one ASSOCIATE member can be sponsored by an ACTIVE member.

Honorary Member: An HONORARY member shall be a former ACTIVE member who for some reason can no longer participate in THE CLUB as a rider but who wishes to remain a CLUB member. This membership shall be voted on at the next regular business meeting of THE CLUB. An HONORARY member shall have a vote, and be eligible to run for all offices with the exception of President

Meetings: The regular meetings of THE CLUB shall be the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month at 8:00 p.m. Consumption of alcoholic beverages will not be permitted during meetings. Twenty-five (25) percent of the membership shall constitute a quorum to conduct business.

Dues: Any member to remain an ACTIVE member must not be more than two (2) months in arrears in dues. Any member more than two (2) months in arrears will be notified by mail to that fact and that dues must be brought up to date by the next meeting or he will be asked to surrender his Coat-of-Arms thereby terminating his membership in THE CLUB. A discount of 2 months will be granted to members if dues are paid no later than the February meeting. After that monthly dues will be enforced.
